As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly capable, alignment is usually framed as a technological problem: How do we ensure that intelligent machines reflect human values?
But Human Alignment must begin with us first — with how clear are we about the values we want them to reflect?
Through philosophical practice and sustained conversation, Human Alignment helps technology leaders examine and develop the assumptions, values, and ethical commitments shaping their decisions.
We offer three ways to engage in this work, ranging from a focused month-long intensive to an ongoing advisory relationship.

Workshops & Courses
Singularity Sanctuary offers workshops and courses that give participants time to explore the ethical and philosophical questions raised by artificial intelligence and accelerating technological change—and to consider how those questions apply to their own work, organizations, and lives.
Programs can be offered online or in person, from a single interactive workshop to a multi-session course and can be adapted to the needs of a particular organization or audience.
Ethics & Technology
Our existing Ethics & Technology course provides the foundation for an expanded workshop or learning series exploring the ethical challenges of emerging technology.
Building upon ten video lessons, participants move beyond watching and listening into discussion, case studies, exercises, and practical application. Topics include major approaches to ethics, humanistic ethics, agency and autonomy, AI alignment, the precautionary principle and iterative deployment, and the ethical significance of the technological Singularity.
Develop Your Philosophy of Life
What do you believe about reality, knowledge, human nature, freedom, responsibility, meaning, and the good life—and how do those beliefs shape the decisions you make?
This workshop uses philosophical inquiry and guided conversation to help participants surface and examine the assumptions underlying their lives and work. For technology leaders in particular, it provides an opportunity to explore the human philosophy ultimately being expressed through the technologies they help create.
Human Alignment
A workshop built around a deceptively simple question: Before we align our machines with human values, how well aligned are we with our own?
Participants examine their values, assumptions, ethical commitments, and ideas about human flourishing, exploring areas of coherence as well as productive tensions between what they believe and how they act.
Creating the Future We Want
An exploration of accelerating technological change and human agency. Rather than simply asking what the future will bring, participants consider a more consequential question: What kind of future do we want—and what role can we play in creating it?
